What the Sox needs is for Foulke, Wakefield and Wells to all comeback close to their career levels. Wakefield is the only one I have faith in to do this, but if Foulke has his head straight he can be a big help down the stretch. As far as the pennant race goes, with 9 games left against the spankees, I just want the Sox to do no worse than the spankees in the other 44 games then take 6 against the spankees to win the division.

Glimmer of Hope

Saw Keith Foulke in his first Pawtucket rehab: 18 pitches, 10 strikes and 2 strikeouts. He looked like he was enjoying pitching. Maybe he has climbed out of his personal and baseball abyss. We can hope.

Potential glimmer of hope

Saw Keith Foulke in his first rehab start in Pawtucket, 18 pitches, 10 strikes and 2 strikeouts. In his bullpen warmup, on the mound and afterwards he looked like a guy who was happy to be pitching. Maybe he has climbed out of his personal and baseball abyss.
