Bob Davis from RSTN in Kansas City can put the Rolling Stones to sleep faster than listening to the Genesis Greatest Hits album. Are you kidding me? I'd like to see a lot more throws before I figure out if he has a rocket or not, but it just might be. Now a little bit more of plate disipline and the trade is looking better every day. If one subscribes to MLB extra innings, and NESN on DISH why can't we get Jerry and Don's broadcast? Much prefered to the other anouncers we get to hear on MLB extra innings. Horrible. I couldn't imagine being a Angels fan forced to listen to their inane chatter all season. Made me want to hit the SAP button. Only those idiots from the White Sox are worse (and Michael Kay of course). Why is Timlin being used as the 7th/8th inning guy in a 1/2 run game? Is there no one else? Because he is clearly not getting it done right now. What about Foulke or Delcarmen? I completely agree about the Angels broadcasters. Horrible. Great performance by Beckett. I wish this Josh Beckett would have shown up during the beginning of the month instead of waiting until now though. We're not out of it yet. It's kind of sad when sarcarism is the only thing that gets you through the day when talking about the Sox. Hey they’re only 5.5 back now. We’re not out of it yet.

Maybe it was more a result of a mediocre, aggressively swinging Angels lineup than JB's performance, but Beckett was absolutely filthy last night (not coincidentally, Javy was not catching him). Unlike the debacle on Saturday, Beckett was not nibbling on the corners last night and dancing around the stike zone. He was consistently pounding the strike zone, hitting his spots on the corners, and keeping guys honest with the curve. I'm not sure he would have gone the distance last night, but 62 pitches and 0 BB thru 6 had to be one of the most efficient pitching performances for any Sox pitcher this season, let alone Beckett. Hopefully his finger's okay, he looks at the film, and is able to bottle this performance for the rest of the season. This is the Josh Beckett I expect to see for all of '07 and many of us expected to see this season. I just recently moved back to New England and arguably the biggest bonus to moving back had to be no longer dealing with opposing team's announcers on the Extra Innings package. It's amazing how much more enjoyable it is to watch a game called by Remy and Orsillo. Maybe I'll even buy their bobblehead as an homage.
