Just trying to suggest that maybe THOSE who have blasted Theo over the past couple of weeks (pretty much everyone, from fan to TV to print), have some serious reconsidering to do. Pretty much everyone out there is using the Oswalt no-trade as proof that he messed up. Now more than ever, that is something THEY need to look at again. If those who are on the fence do come around, go ahead and get pissed. I am pissed at them for not getting it in the first place. Was never on the fence. I don't care if you have Oswalt or Andruw Jones, with all this bad luck... this year just wasn't meant to be. Thanks to that F-ing crow. SO thankfully Theo didn't leverage the future by trading the youngens (lester, hansen, delcarmen) for a guy who most likely wouldn't have signed in Boston anyway (oswalt). Thank god for the foresight. OK, so he made some bad choices with Coco, Tavarez/Seanez and hastily getting rid of Bard etc. But all signs pointed to YES with Coco and Tavarez/Seanez seemed like good mid-relief guys at the outset. This just isn't the year, it sucks, it's hard to take but Theo can't be blamed for everything that has happened, so looking forward, I'm glad the youngens are here. I just wish Hanley Ramirez and Anibel Sanchez were too...thanks Larry! Seth...if Manny is moved, who else is out there to protect Papi? I'm thinking Coco could play left, if we get a legit CF or LF with power? Theo is looking more and more like a genius again in my book. It is easier to accept their downfall now, amidst all these injuries, than it would’ve been in late September or in the playoffs. It’s also easier to take because it is technically (though not meteorologically) still summer in Boston, meaning we don’t have to deal with the twin sledgehammers of SOX SEASON OVER and BITTER WINTER APPROACHING all at once. And maybe we’ll actually land a decent prospect in return for Wells, who was always a Yankee anyhow. I may be in the minority, but I am grateful that the Sox are collapsing so utterly.
