This makes me feel old.
Larry Bird is fifty years old.
I love David Ortiz — you know, that other Boston sports hero with a tricky ticker — but Larry Legend will always have that special, first-true-love place in my heart. (For a great Larry v. Papi piece, check out Bill Simmons’s masterpiece on the subject.)

Hmmm…Reading this blog could get expensive for me. Last week I bought a Michael Jordan DVD set as a Christmas present for my daughter. Today I ordered Feeding the Monster as a present for myself. Now I’m thinking, geez, that’s right, I can’t very well have a Jordan DVD set in the house and not have a Larry Bird one, can I?
