I just wanted to let you know that you made my Christmas.

My father and grandmother both love their autographed copies of Feeding the Monster, which I obtained at the EWMB Boston Books and Baseball fundraiser.

I was the crazy fan who was 1st in line to get 3 books signed by you, the 2 gifts and one for myself.

Thanks again for sharing your wonderful writing with all of us!

Seth, you are completely wrong on this one. The Herald is reporting some incredible stories...on the last business day before Christmas, they are leading with:

"The Red Sox may not finalize J.D. Drew’s free agent contract until after Christmas."

WOW!

"So: gird yourself for a family weekend, remember to smile politely at the in-laws,* and don’t get so drunk you puke. Nobody likes vomit under the tree.

* Speaking of in-laws — and everyone else — I’d bet they’d love a signed, personalized copy of Feeding the Monster. Or have I already mentioned that?"

Seth:
What a timely reminder...I've purchased three copies of your book already for members of my family. My father-in-law, although a big baseball fan, is a Yankee fan. So two things: I get plenty of practice smiling politely when I'm visiting my in-laws (which I find to be immeasurably easier by remaining sober); and, while I'd be more than happy to give him a copy of your book for X-mas, I'm not sure what his state of literacy is being a Yankee fan and all.

Maybe if you come out with a children's version of the book with plenty of pictures, colorful illustrations, small words, and absolutely no footnotes, I'll get him a copy.
